Marlow

Thus entombed forever more:
Love’s wish and life’s love.
Softly covered virgin train
over gently covered stone.

These grounds that held “us”
the alter my child, blessed,
these grounds so happy were.
Sunken down with bitter death.

Would prove too much. Would it?
to have all my heart would want.
Father, husband, lovèd son.

These grounds held our love’s joining,
christened here my son is.
But shrouded my Father in the graves
covered gently with Earth’s kiss.
